Last night, a hit-and-run incident left a male skateboarder with life-threatening injuries after he was struck by a car while riding along 3600 Euclid Ave in Fox Canyon. According to the San Diego Police Department Watch Commander's Log, the collision occurred at approximately 11:52 PM, and the driver, a 20-year-old female, fled the scene.

The injured man, whose age is yet to be confirmed, was reportedly traveling southbound when the woman, driving a 2009 Honda Accord at what has been described as a high rate of speed, collided with him. In addition to the hit-and-run involving the skateboarder, the female driver was involved in another crash at the intersection of 2500 46th St before fleeing that location as well. It was only later after her vehicle became disabled at Fairmount Ave and the I-8, that authorities arrested her.

The woman was found to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of her arrest. She did not sustain any injuries from the events of the night. San Diego Police Department Traffic Division personnel are conducting an ongoing investigation into the collisions. Efforts to gather information and determine the full circumstances of the incident are active.

Sergeant C. Leisz, the watch commander in charge, has issued a plea for anyone with information about the incident to step forward. Information can be provided by calling the Traffic Division directly, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. The gravity of the skateboarder’s condition, suffering serious head and torso trauma, underscores the urgent need for witnesses to provide any detail that might aid in the legal proceedings and further investigation.
