St. Louis Park residents are teeing up for the annual Parktacular Festival, a community celebration slated for June 14 – 16 that promises a plethora of activities from parades to live concerts. The Parktacular festivities will include a Grand Day Parade, the Splash into Summer pool night at the Aquatic Park, an enriching Juneteenth Celebration on June 16, along with a Business Expo, and family-centered activities at Kidtacular.
Breaking new ground this year, on June 15, Parktacular is set to host a pickleball tournament suitable for contestants 18 years and above, with categories accommodating beginner to competitive skill levels. Interested participants have been reminded to register by June 11 through the Parktacular website, which also provides a detailed list of the festival activities.
An Ecotacular event, weaving in an environmental thread, will take place on June 15 from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. at Wolfe Park. This segment of Parktacular will offer family-friendly activities that underscore ecological stewardship, featuring exhibits from local partners like Westwood Hills Nature Center and Electrify Everything MN. Visiting families can learn from staff on a wide array of environment-related subjects, from the benefits of induction stoves to the importance of pollinator conservation.
Reaffirming the spirit of civic engagement, Parktacular will include a mock election where all ages can engage with the democratic process, casting a "fun ballot" for favorite animated and video game characters on June 15. Elections staff will be at Wolfe Park from 1:30 – 6 p.m. to field election-related questions and to assist with the mock voting process. Proudly standing as a whimsical dress rehearsal for the actual state primary election, this mock election will serve as a warm-up, helping community members become acquainted with ballot mechanics before the stakes are real on Election Day.
