The small Texas town of Gatesville is about to get revved up as over 540 enthusiasts and owners are expected to roll into the world's largest meetup for Cybertrucks. Organized by the Tesla Owners Club of Austin, this electric jamboree is slated for June 2, promising a day packed with activities engaging all ages. According to Houston Chronicle, the lineup includes a synchronized light show, live music, and a test of mettle for the Cybertrucks on a dirt track replete with 20 challenging turns.
With expectations to showcase around 80 Cybertrucks, the event taking place at DOMO Dove Nest Motorsports Club aims to unite Tesla aficionados and the curious alike. Matt Holm, Tesla Owners Club of Austin's founder, harbors the goal to go to break the 100 mark. "It's really an excuse to get together and have fun," he told Houston Chronicle. Holm looks forward to using the Cybertrucks' light show feature to maximize visual impact at the gathering.
Registration and attendance are free, opening the gates to a diverse array of participants, each with unique experiences and perspectives on the futuristic vehicle. There's a special "Rival Rodeo Pass" for combustion engine trucks eager to measure up against the Cybertrucks, as per Chron.com. The event is not just about flashing lights and horsepower; children will have their share of the action with the "Kid Short Course," letting them drive mini Cybertrucks, while onlookers can expect to watch flamethrowers in action.
The Cybertruck Rodeo might also serve to directly tackle recent concerns about the vehicle's performance. Since its release, the Cybertruck faced delays and issues, including a recall of more than 3,800 units due to an accelerator pedal problem, yet Tesla has confirmed no related collisions or injuries. Contrary to negative reports, Holm boasts of his own positive experiences. "I’ve got 6,000 miles on my Cybertruck; I’ve had zero issues," he claimed in a statement obtained by Houston Chronicle.
While participants are likely to eagerly display their vehicles’ capabilities, the event demands caution with articulated rules, including mandatory helmets and abiding by no-trailblazing policies. Adding a touch of exclusive allure, there will be a raffle for a "Cyberhammer," a nod to the Cybertruck's durability demonstrations. As for the weather, there's a chance of rain on Sunday, but surely that won't dampen the spirits of the die-hard Tesla crowd converging on Gatesville.
