The Tigard Police Department is currently on the search for an individual responsible for a series of vandalism acts that have left over a dozen new construction properties across Tigard and King City with severe damages. With an estimated cost of over $200,000, the string of destructive incidents has caused significant financial strain on local businesses. KGW.com reported the story initially, calling attention to the need for public assistance in identifying the suspect.
Images and footage have been released by the authorities showing a person they believe to be behind the vandalism. The distress incited by such vandalism was communicated by Jim Delmore, who, working with his construction company for 28 years, has never encountered such rampant destruction. "It involved us having to remove countertops, flooring, lighting, sheetrock, insulation—it is without a doubt the worst vandalism we've ever had," Delmore told KATU.com in an interview.
Surveillance video from May 12 shows the suspect at the scene, traversing the driveway of one property and the porch of another. The perpetrator of this extensive vandalism has not only brought financial repercussions but also a sense of unease among the local builders and residents. Delmore conveyed his surprise upon seeing the suspect's image, noting their youth and how unexpectedly ordinary they appeared. "I’m glad he got caught on camera because I don’t imagine this was his first time doing this," Delmore said, as detailed by KPTV.com. "We’re a small local builder and it’s a significant amount of money and comes right off the bottom line."
