A violent altercation over a cash dispute between neighbors in Warren, Michigan resulted in two brothers being arrested and a 25-year-old man left critically injured. The incident occurred in the early afternoon of June 3, near the 22000 block of Karam Court, as reported by The Detroit News.
Warren police were called to the scene around 1:15 p.m. following multiple 911 calls from residents claiming two men were assaulting another by stomping and kicking him on the ground. Upon arrival, officers found the victim unconscious lying in the street; Warren firefighters provided aid before he was transported to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition with head trauma, according to Macomb Daily. The suspects, aged 32 and 34, are brothers and were seen entering a nearby residence following the assault.
Authorities arrested the 32-year-old suspect without incident at the home, and after issuing a search warrant to collect evidence, took the 34-year-old suspect into custody. "Several witnesses reported both suspects delivering 'kicks and stomps' to the upper body and head area of the victim," police disclosed in a news release cited by The Detroit News. The dispute began over an argument about money between the victim and the younger suspect.
The investigation, as detailed by officials, is active and ongoing, and the findings from the case are expected to be presented to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday, June 5, for a charging decision.
