A two-year-old girl, Kirby Carr, who was reportedly taken from her Peoria home by her non-custodial father, was found unharmed in another state as of Sunday. The Peoria Police Department confirmed the child's safety following an alleged kidnapping incident that began on June 8 near Lake Pleasant Parkway and Speckled Gecko Drive. The father, 52-year-old Kevin Carr, is now in custody, FOX 10 Phoenix reported.
According to the Peoria Police, "Officers learned the non-custodial parent arrived at this location for a supervised visitation with his 2-year-old child. Once the visitation concluded, the suspect fled the area," conveying an incident that occurred following what was supposed to be a controlled encounter. Kevin Carr was sighted escaping in a 2014 blue Fiat 500, with Arizona license plate M5A6EM, added the authorities.
The specific location where Kirby was found has not been disclosed by the police. A forthcoming press conference scheduled for Monday is expected to provide additional details surrounding the case. Anyone who might have relevant information is urged to contact the Peoria Police at 623-773-7045 as the investigation continues.
The kidnapping alert was initially triggered after Peoria police responded to a report of family problems at the Carr residence around 2:45 p.m. on Saturday. Taking his daughter upon the visit's end, Kevin Carr, whose parental rights had been revoked, allegedly left with Kirby and quickly became the focus of an urgent multi-state search. "There was reason to believe Kevin Carr and Kirby Carr could be out of the state," 12 News stated before the child was located safely the following day.
