A Victorville man, Deondre Demetris Porter, has been sentenced to a decade behind bars for the sex trafficking of a 16-year-old girl, the U.S. Attorney's Office Southern District of California announced. The sentencing that occurred in federal court followed Porter's guilty plea earlier this year for compelling the minor into the sex trade across Southern California.
Prosecutors presented details of the harrowing case, describing how Porter recruited the girl only days before the assault on Easter Sunday in April 2023. Caught between life in Victorville, San Bernardino, and San Diego, she was forced into hotel rooms across these locations and made to solicit on Roosevelt Avenue in National City. Walking down the Street, Roosevelt Avenue, she was seeking commercial sex buyers under duress, as Porter's accomplice, Aaliyah White played a role in overseeing the minor’s activities. Porter, aged 26 at the time of these crimes, now faces the justice he eluded while victimizing the young girl.
Authorities were alerted to the situation when the victim was seen being ejected from a moving vehicle in San Diego, and she landed on the street, half-clothed and battered. She was subsequently hospitalized for her injuries, where it was revealed through an interview with the San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force that Porter and White were responsible for her attacker and sex trafficker, "This lengthy sentence is a testament of HSI’s commitment to identifying a callus predator and rescuing a child victim from continued abuse," stated Christopher Davis, acting special agent in charge, according to news from the U.S. Attorney's Office.
In pursuit of justice, the task force conducted a thorough investigation, linking the vehicle used in the assault to Porter and unearthing sex ads he placed, portraying the girl as an adult on Private Delights and MegaPersonals websites. Hotel surveillance footage later corroborated the grim narrative of the minor’s exploitation. "The law enforcement community in San Diego remains dedicated to the rescue of sex trafficking survivors, as well as the aggressive prosecution for those responsible for these crimes," San Diego Police Chief David Nisleit told the U.S. Attorney's Office, emphasizing the significant impact of these crimes on victims.
While Porter begins his 10-year sentence, White awaits her sentencing set for June 10. The case, bearing the number 23-cr-0955-AGS, saw the collaborative efforts of the San Diego Police Department, San Diego County Probation Department, Homeland Security Investigations, San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force, and California Department of Justice.
