
A tragic incident unfolded in the Feltonville section of North Philadelphia on Saturday night, leaving a 1-year-old girl dead and two others injured after a vehicular collision. NBC Philadelphia reports that the accident occurred as a 31-year-old woman was pushing a stroller with her 22-month-old daughter inside, and was accompanied by a 13-year-old, when a blue Dodge Ram 1500 struck them.
The family was crossing the street at the intersection of North Front Street and East Wyoming Avenue just before 9 p.m. when the eastbound truck, turning north onto Front Street, hit all three while they were crossing with the green light the police added that the 28-year-old male driver of the 2022 vehicle stayed at the scene after the crash. Action News informed that the young child was rushed to St. Christopher's Hospital and was later pronounced dead while the woman and teenager were transported to Einstein Medical Center in stable condition.
According to CBS News Philadelphia, the driver involved was questioned by authorities but has not been arrested as charges are pending further investigation into the crash; the driver's identity has not been released nor has the identity of the young child who succumbed to her injuries.
The Philadelphia Police Department continues its inquiry into the events that led up to the collision, with officials not yet providing a detailed account of the factors contributing to the incident.
