
A tragic incident unfolded in Charlotte's Westover Division where a pedestrian was fatally struck by a train. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reported that on Friday, July 26, 2024, at around 9:46 a.m., responders were called to the scene behind the 200 block of Peachtree Drive South, where they discovered 37-year-old Jenna Wolfe unresponsive on the railroad tracks. According to a statement by the CMPD, MEDIC pronounced Ms. Wolfe deceased at the scene.
The CMPD’s Major Crash Investigation Unit and Motor Unit were quickly to arrive and begin their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Working alongside Crime Scene Search, the detectives processed the scene and collected physical evidence. The preliminary investigation suggests that Ms. Wolfe was lying on the tracks when she was hit by the passing Norfolk Southern Train.
