Anoka County is on a mission to make streets and roads safer for all. Amidst a troubling rise in traffic fatalities, the county has kicked off the development of the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Plan. This comprehensive roadmap aims to enhance transportation safety for drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and transit users alike, according to Anoka County Minnesota.
Despite previous declining trends, Anoka County has not been immune to the nationwide increase in traffic-related deaths. The SS4A Plan serves as a proactive measure, aiming to employ data-driven strategies and stakeholder feedback to establish a list of safety enhancement projects. Once these projects are pinpointed, the county will seek to prioritize and secure funding for these critical safety upgrades, as per Anoka County Minnesota.
The county has provided an online survey, alongside an interactive comment map, allowing individuals to pinpoint and share specific problem areas and roads that they believe need urgent attention.
