A flood advisory was put into effect earlier in the day for the San Marcos area after significant rainfall was recorded at the San Marcos Municipal Airport. Reports from KXAN's weather coverage indicated that this weather anomaly was attributed to showers and thunderstorms that might still affect areas along Highway 77 in Fayette and Lee Counties, as rains from the Gulf's sea breeze come ashore.

With the temperature slightly dropping, the high is forecasted to be near 96, sporting intense heat index values as high as 101.
