According to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office (BCSO), Jade was last seen around 6:30 p.m. by a neighbor as she left her home on the northern outskirts of the county. The disappearance has prompted officials to turn to the public for assistance in the hopes to swiftly locate the teenager. Garcia is described as 5-foot-1, around 100 pounds, with brown eyes and dark brown hair.
Specific details on what Jade was last seen wearing were provided by authorities; she had on blue pants, a black shirt, and was carrying a beige bag. Notably, she has a distinctive butterfly tattoo on her right hand, a detail that could aid in her identification. The search has also taken to social media, where BCSO shared these descriptions in a post from Facebook to inform as wide an audience as possible.
The Sheriff's office has issued a reminder regarding laws against harboring a runaway, stressing the severity of the crime. "It is a Class A misdemeanor to Harbor a Runaway and is Punishable by up to one year in jail and up to a $5,000 fine," was stated in a report by FOX San Antonio.
