
On the afternoon of July 16, a routine investigation by Baltimore police detectives in Curtis Bay swiftly escalated into a vehicular chase that culminated in a crash and the subsequent arrest of two suspects. According to the Baltimore Police Department's post, the incident occurred around 1:55 p.m. when detectives tried to stop a vehicle. Instead of yielding, the driver decided to try and hastily flee, leading the officers through an impromptu chase that ended in the 400 block of Frankfurst Avenue when the vehicle crashed.

On July 16, 2024, at around 1:55 p.m., detectives were conducting an investigation in the Curtis Bay area when they attempted to initiate a vehicle stop.

The aftermath was frenetic as the vehicle's occupants, a 23-year-old male and a 19-year-old male, attempted to escape on foot but were quickly apprehended. During the incident, a Glock 22 handgun loaded with ammunition was retrieved from the suspects' possession. The Baltimore Police shared that both individuals were charged and transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility. Their identities have not been disclosed as of yet.
This event underscores the continuing challenges law enforcement faces in Baltimore, a city grappling with high rates of violent crime. It also raises questions about the effectiveness of current strategies to curb illegal firearms and their use in crimes.
