
Violence struck the 1700 block of McCulloh Street in Baltimore on the evening of July 23rd, leaving two people severely wounded from gunshot injuries. According to a statement by the Baltimore Police Department, the incident was first detected by ShotSpotter technology, an automated system that alerts police to potential gunshots and was swiftly followed by a 911 shooting call.
When Baltimore officers arrived on the scene at approximately 8:06 p.m., they discovered a young, 21-year-old woman and an adult male both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds the two victims were then rushed to a local hospital to receive urgent medical care for their injuries. The condition of the victims remains critical but stable.
In a related event, a call regarding a walk-in shooting victim reached the officers shortly thereafter, leading them to find another adult male victim at a nearby hospital, this victim bore wounds from gunfire that were deemed non-life-threatening. Western District Shooting detectives have taken the reins of this investigation.
