Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF) is ushering in a new era of leadership with the appointments of Kathy Davis as the new BCYF Condon Community Center Director in South Boston and Andres Ramirez as the new BCYF Draper Pool Manager in West Roxbury. According to the City of Boston's recent announcement, these two seasoned professionals are stepping up to continue the BCYF's commitment to creating nurturing environments for the city's youth and families. Mayor Michelle Wu expressed her confidence that "both of them will serve their communities well."

With nearly 41 years at BCYF, Davis is no stranger to the community she is set to lead. Her previous position as Program Supervisor at BCYF Tynan Community Center has allowed her to directly impact South Boston's residents, where she has implemented a variety of programs. Kathy Davis aims to seamlessly transition into her new role, vowing to "take my many years of experience and transition to the BCYF Condon as Center Director," she told the City of Boston's official website. While the Condon Community Center undergoes infrastructure improvements this summer, Davis will operate out of the Gavin School.

Ramirez, who began his career as a lifeguard in 2003, has built an impressive resume over two decades within the BCYF's aquatic spaces. The East Boston High School graduate, who competed in the pool throughout his high school years, plans to "expanding our aquatics programs for our West Roxbury neighbors," as he stated in the City of Boston's announcement. Ramirez will continue his commitment to community aquatics at the BCYF Mason Pool until the Draper Pool, currently under construction, is ready to be unveiled in the fall.

These appointments come at a time when BCYF is also looking to fill additional vacancies within their ranks. Their role is crucial in providing supervision and mentorship to employees and volunteers, ensuring that operational policies and procedures align with the needs of the children and families they serve. For individuals looking to be a part of the BCYF's mission, the City of Boston Career Center offers more details on the opportunities available. As these two community leaders assume their new roles, their combined experience is set to perpetuate the growth and enrichment of Boston's youth and community spaces.
