Brooklyn Park Police have apprehended three individuals following a late-night vehicle chase linked to several car prowlings and thefts. According to an alert issued by the department, officers noticed a vehicle on the 8400 block of Regent Avenue North around 11:25 p.m. on July 23, 2024, that was identified in previous criminal activities in the area.
The attempt to stop the car led to a pursuit after the suspects decided to flee. After their vehicle ended up on a dead-end street, the occupants abandoned the car and continued to desperately try to evade the police on foot. The officers set up a perimeter and initiated a search with the help of K9 units and assistance from the air through a Minnesota State Patrol helicopter and the Brooklyn Park Drone team.
A loaded firearm was discovered during the search. After a comprehensive tracking operation, police managed to locate and arrest a total of three persons in connection to the incident. The joint effort saw collaboration from several neighboring law enforcement agencies, which played a vital role in the operation's success.
One of the suspects sustained minor injuries during the arrest and subsequently received treatment. While specific details about the individuals are yet to be released, the case remains active as investigations continue.
