Last night, the California Highway Patrol's Golden Gate Division Air Operations played a pivotal role in the safe recovery of a lost hiker near Table Rock, as reported by the California Highway Patrol's Golden Gate Division Air Operations. The individual, whose adventure in the wilderness took an unplanned detour, found himself disoriented and stranded in the challenging terrain that characterizes the region.
Upon receiving the distress call, the CHP dispatched helicopter H-30 with night vision goggles for a search and rescue operation. The helicopter quickly located the hiker, but the rough terrain prevented landing. The team improvised by deploying a medic to reach the hiker and coordinate the rescue.
The hiker was unharmed and stated they had just gotten lost. The CHP pilot expertly hovered while the crew airlifted the hiker to safety, where a deputy was waiting to transport them back to their vehicle. The helicopter then returned to pick up the medic, and the crew safely returned to base, completing a successful rescue without further incidents.
