Minneapolis residents in Ventura Village can breathe a sigh of relief as the major natural gas line replacements come to an end. As announced by CenterPoint Energy, the infrastructure project that disrupted streets and routines is now complete. The crews from Michels Corporation, a CenterPoint Energy natural gas contractor, successfully wrapped up the work, which included installing new mains in June and transitioning inside meters to the outside of properties.
Following these extensive undertakings, neighbors will encounter temporary backfill marking the spots where excavations took place. According to the project update, residents should expect to see a variety of materials like dirt, gravel, or temporary asphalt used for this purpose. These temporary measures serve as placeholders until the arrival of Q3 Contracting, which will carry out the final restoration. The works, aligned with the City of Minneapolis's 2024 ADA Upgrade and 2025 Resurfacing Projects, will restore hard surfaces to their prior state, whereas grassy areas will receive fresh dirt and seed, perennially returning verdure to the urban milieu.
