
A fatal stabbing in Charlotte's Westover Division has triggered a homicide investigation by local authorities. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) reported that officers responded to an assault call at around 1:54 a.m. today on the 800 block of Shadow Elm Drive. On the scene, they discovered a male victim with stab wounds who was later pronounced dead by MEDIC.
Investigators are currently engaging with a person of interest in connection to the incident and are not pursuing additional suspects at this juncture, according to a statement on CMPD's official website.
The CMPD's Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Search arrived shortly thereafter to begin their investigation and collect evidence.
