Yesterday morning, a wrong-way driver caused a head-on collision on US-131 near Market Avenue, resulting in three hospitalizations, including a child. The Michigan State Police are currently investigating the crash, which occurred around 3:50 AM, according to a post from FOX 17.
A 32-year-old woman, reportedly northbound in the southbound lane, collided with another vehicle driven by a 36-year-old woman. Found with an unrestrained child in her car, the northbound driver's decision-making process, which might have been influenced by alcohol, is being scrutinized. All three individuals, both women and the child, sustained varying injuries and were transported to the hospital, though the severity of their injuries remains unconfirmed.
The Michigan State Police, as posted by MSP Sixth District on X, believe alcohol played a role in the incident. They have disclosed the alarming detail that the child in the northbound vehicle was unrestrained at the time of the collision.
