In a recent turn of events following a month-long investigation, the Camarillo Special Enforcement Unit has succeeded in apprehending Abel Aragon, a 45-year-old Camarillo resident and convicted felon on charges of illegal firearm possession. According to a news release distributed on July 25th, Aragon was found in possession of a loaded 9mm semi-automatic "ghost gun" and ammunition after a search warrant was served at his home on Green Glade Court.

Following a tip received in June 2024, a coordinated action between the Camarillo Special Enforcement Unit and the Camarillo Directed Enforcement Unit led to Aragon’s arrest this past Thursday at 7:00 AM. The investigative units responsible for the arrest are tasked with managing a spectrum of crimes, from illegal firearms to gang-related offenses. "Aragon was charged with a violation of PC 27545 / Unlawful Transfer of a Firearm, PC 29800(a)(1) / Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and PC 30305(a)(1) / Felon in Possession of Ammunition," Senior Deputy Steve Krupnik prepared the media release, highlighting the charges.

Aragon was thereafter booked into the Ventura County Main Jail and later released on a bail bond.
