A routine patrol resulted in the arrest of a 42-year-old convicted felon on Capitol Hill this past Monday. Seattle Police said they spotted a car without a license plate that appeared suspicious on the 800 block of East Harrison Street just after 10 p.m. The drive, upon investigation, demonstrated signs of impairment and police found narcotics paraphernalia in the vehicle.
During the search, officers noticed a firearm in the car which prompted a more thorough examination under a search warrant. The gun, a loaded Polymer80 semi-automatic, was not the only illicit item uncovered by the police officers. Suspected narcotics, paraphernalia, and the unauthorized weapon were confiscated from the scene. The man's prior convictions bar him from legally possessing any firearms, adding gravity to the situation.
After the arrest, the individual faced charges for Physical Control While Intoxicated and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and was booked into King County Jail. The case has since progressed to the hands of the Gun Violence Reduction Unit, who are now actively delving deeper into the circumstances of the convicted felon's activities.
