Amidst housekeeping matters that touch the lives of residents, two particular ordinances were passed that caught the public's eye – one adding parking restrictions on 111th Ave. and Creek Meadow Drive, and another imposing a moratorium on cannabis businesses in the community, the latter of which may signal a cautious approach towards the budding industry.

According to the city's announcement, the Council is furthering its collaborations with local institutions, demonstrated by the greenlighting of a security contract with Anoka-Ramsey Community College. This partnership underscores a commitment to campus safety and enhancing the collegial relationship between the city's administration and its educational cornerstones. Lastly, residents should mark their calendars for an upcoming public hearing as the Council introduced an ordinance for a Comcast cable television franchise agreement, showing that while some items get resolved, others are just dialing into the public discourse.
