Anthony Robles, a 48-year-old Del Valle man, has been sentenced to a 150-month term in federal prison after pleading guilty to drug trafficking and firearm charges. This heavy judgment comes after Robles engaged in the sale of nine ounces of methamphetamine to an undercover agent and was later found in possession of a significant arsenal of weapons and a staggering variety of hard drugs at his residence.
Following a successful undercover operation on April 26, 2023, agents obtained a search warrant for Robles's home, where they discovered more than just the aftermath of drug deals. An amount of 19 firearms, including ballistic vests and body armor, as well as diamonds, were found, according to court documents. But the contraband did not end there; agents also seized over 600 grams of methamphetamine, over 500 grams of heroin, nearly a kilogram of fentanyl, and upwards of 50 grams of cocaine.
The case was a result of collaborative investigative efforts by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Texas Department of Public Safety. Robles, who was arrested on October 18, 2023, conceded to one count each of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and felon in possession of a firearm, facing the judiciary's stern recompense for his illicit activities.
U.S. Attorney Jaime Esparza for the Western District of Texas publicly announced the sentencing. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matt Harding, who prosecuted the case, has not released further comments on the conclusion of the proceedings. The length of the sentence reflects an ongoing intensity in cracking down on drug trafficking and the illegal possession of firearms, signaling a no-tolerance stance that federal agencies and courts continue to uphold against such criminal abuses.
