The Detroit community is rallying together in the search for LaNay Thomas, a 13-year-old girl who has been missing for over a week. According to the information released by WWJ Newsradio, LaNay was last seen at her residence on the 14900 block of Greenfield, between Fenkell and Grand River, on Detroit's northwest side. The time of her disappearance is reported as 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 20th.
LaNay is described as being 5'1" in height and weighing 160 pounds. The day she vanished, LaNay was wearing a black t-shirt, black pants, and black tennis shoes. The Detroit Police Department's Missing Person's unit has been urgently requesting the public’s assistance in locating her, urging anyone with information to come forward.
The Detroit Police are leaving no stone unturned in their continued search for the young girl, with the 6th Precinct spearheading the efforts. Community members who may have seen LaNay, or know of her whereabouts, are being asked to contact the Detroit Police Department's 6th Precinct at (313) 596-5800 or the anonymous tip line 1-800-SPEAKUP.
Concern has continued to grow as each day passes without a trace of LaNay's whereabouts. The police, along with LaNay's family and residents, are holding onto hope for her safe return. The city is collectively holding its breath, waiting for any news that can lead to her being found and reunited with her family.
