
In a recent bulletin from the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department, a total of 34 arrests and 54 non-traffic citations have been reported by police officers and detectives within the Downtown High-Visibility Patrol during the period of July 15th to July 21st. According to the breakdown provided, the Downtown Public Safety Center was responsible for most of the activity, with 26 arrests and 53 non-traffic citations. Parking enforcement was similarly busy, having issued 10 parking citations and executed 3 tows, alongside 7 traffic citations and a single warrant request. Meanwhile, the Violence Prevention Unit / Narcotics managed to arrest 8 individuals, issue one non-traffic citation, secure a warrant, and also tow a vehicle. The significant haul by this unit also featured the seizure of narcotics, body armor, and indicia – a discovery made possible during a traffic stop on Stanwix Street.
No traffic-related arrests or citations were presented by the traffic unit, although they were not completely inactive, as acknowledged by the city's blotter report. This unit did issue 19 parking citations and conduct 3 tows, alongside a solitary traffic citation over the stated period.
