According to CBS Austin, the collision occurred in the 12000 block of North MoPac Expressway southbound near the Duval Road intersection at around 5:39 a.m. The accident involved a sports utility vehicle and a pickup truck, and both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
43-year-old Nickolaus Lauderdale has been identified by APD as one of the two fatalities. In the ongoing investigation, the name of the other deceased male driver has not yet been disclosed. The emergency response to the reported pin-in collision by Austin-Travis County EMS was detailed on KXAN.
