
The community of Durham is on alert after an Amber Alert was issued for 9-year-old Geon King-Parriett, who authorities believe to be endangered. According to information provided by WSOCTV, he was last seen at around 6 p.m. yesterday, leaving an area near 202 S Benjamine St. on foot.
Reports from the Durham Police Department describe Geon as a Black male, approximately 4 feet 10 inches tall, weighing around 100 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. The police shared that the boy was last seen sporting a black hoodie and sweatpants. The authorities have also released details surrounding the person whom they suspect is with Geon - 43-year-old Mariah King, who is described as a Black female, about 5 feet 4 inches tall, with a similar physical description and attire to her son. However, ABC11 has clarified Mariah's age to be 33 years old.
In a statement obtained by WSOCTV, law enforcement officials urged anyone with information regarding the case to reach out to the Durham Police Department immediately. The local community is being asked to keep an eye out and report any potentially relevant information to help in the safe return of the child.
