A peculiar incident unfolded early yesterday morning in Fairfield when an attempted armed robbery. At around 6:44 am, a citizen alerted Officer Grimm of the Fairfield Police Department to an attempted robbery on West Texas Street. According to the Fairfield Police Department, the individual, 29-year-old Brandon Ejchorszt, had threatened the use of what turned out to be a replica firearm in a bid to abscond with someone else's bike.
Upon seeing the officer, Ejchorszt hastily abandoned his mission, initiating a flight from the scene that proved futile. Quickly converging upon the area, officers managed to apprehend him swiftly. In the commotion that followed, the firearm, a replica, was found discarded in the brush nearby.
Ejchorszt was then positively identified by the police, removing any lingering doubts about his participation in the botched heist. Following his arrest, the Fairfield Police Department transported Ejchorszt to the County Jail.
