
An early morning calamity unfolded today at 63 East Crosstimbers Street in Houston when a pedestrian, whose identity remains to be confirmed, was struck and killed by a vehicle. According to a Houston police report, at around 12:50 a.m., officers from the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division responded to the distressing scene where they discovered the male pedestrian deceased.
Sgt. D. Griffiths and Officer D. Hoang, the investigating officials, described the incident, noting the pedestrian lay in a roadway lane at the time of the crash, a gray Nissan Versa traveling westbound made contact with resulting in the tragic outcome the driver of the Versa, a 61-year-old man appeared to be sober at the time and following questioning, was released without charges. Eyewitness accounts, sourced within the police statement, suggest that the pedestrian was behaving unpredictably and had been spotted acting erratically before the fatal sequence of events took place.
Paramedics who hurried to the site pronounced the individual dead upon their arrival, while the efforts to formally identify the victim are currently underway by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
