Firefighters responded to a structure fire early this morning at a jewelry store located at 19001 W Ventura Bl in Tarzana. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), the blaze was reported at 07:47 AM and involved a one-story commercial building with a fire in the attic.
The LAFD entered offensive mode to combat the fire which, spread to the attic of the store. A total of 75 firefighters were dispatched to the scene. In a rapid response, the fire department managed to get the situation under control quickly, preventing the fire from extending horizontally to adjacent units within the same strip mall, the intensity of such swift action mitigated what could have been more extensive damage to the surrounding property.
By 08:07 AM, the LAFD had achieved knockdown of the fire, as reported in an alert by the department's official news release. It took firefighters approximately 20 minutes to extinguish the flames, an effort that was executed without any reported injuries. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
The incident required coordination among various units, including E100, E27, and T73, among others. These units were actively involved in the firefighting efforts, showcasing a disciplined and collaborative approach to incident management. The LAFD has not yet released further details on the incident or the estimated cost of the damages incurred by the fire.
