The Savage Library has just opened the doors of its new Large Meeting Room to the public, and for those looking to find a space for community gatherings, workshops, or presentations, the time to book is now. Announced on the library's official website, the newly constructed room can be reserved completely free of charge and boasts flexible usability ranging from club meetings to professional meetups.
The availability of this resource comes with a caveat, as the library is actively working to fully equip the room with an audiovisual system that they promise will be operational later this year. However, eager organizers can still proceed to make reservations for events to unfold in Savage's fresh space.
There are important details to keep in mind when booking the Large Meeting Room. According to the Savage Library's rules, an individual must pick up a Meeting Room Rental Kit, which can be done only during staffed hours, and a registered library card is needed to check out this kit. Additionally, groups are limited to utilizing the room for up to four hours per booking each day to ensure that access remains fair for all members of the community. There's also a cap on the number of reservations: no more than five per month for any given group. Reservations can be submitted as much as 60 days in advance, but activities within the meeting room are expected to be self-contained and not disrupt the otherwise smooth operation of the library's other services.
For those wanting to secure a spot, submissions for bookings must be reviewed and approved by library staff. Once approved, an automated email will be sent to remind you about picking up the necessary Rental Kit and to confirm your reservation. Should you encounter any snag with the online booking process, patrons are encouraged to directly call the Savage Library at 952-707-1770, email them, or engage in person at the help desk for assistance with reservations.
