According to a bulletin posted by CenterPoint Energy, work is scheduled to take place from late July into October on thoroughfares including Ashton Avenue NE and 62nd Way NE, affecting passage from East River Road up to residential areas around Main Street NE.
CenterPoint has contracted Michels Corporation to handle the gas main replacement and Q3 Contracting to manage area restoration, as per CenterPoint Energy Minnesota. For locals, this means there will be detours as parts of the roads will be sealed off during construction, although the company has indicated that it does not expect interruptions to the gas service, despite the scale of the work.
The exact segments on the construction blueprint are Ashton Avenue NE, stretching from 62nd Way NE to a mid-point between 66th Way NE and 66th ½ Way NE, and in the CenterPoint easement eastward from Ashton Avenue NE to 6536 Main Street NE. The work is a piece of the larger infrastructure upgrade efforts by the energy company, striving for improved service delivery to its clients.
