The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department reported that deputies arrived on the scene in the 8300 block of Broadway at approximately 2:15 a.m. on Monday, where they found Colvin injured but conscious. He was transported to the hospital by paramedics but later died as a result of what the Medical Examiner’s Office determined to be blunt-force trauma. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department has classified the manner of death as a homicide.

According to witnesses, the victim was standing in the roadway in front of an unidentified vehicle and appeared to be in conversation with its occupants just before the vehicle sped up, intentionally hitting him. As law enforcement continues investigating, the details surrounding the motivation for this action and who is responsible remain unclear.
