
Houston-area law enforcement made a significant arrest when deputies, responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle near a gun store with a power outage, apprehended a man wanted for murder. The incident occurred on July 11 in the 4400 block of Spring Cypress Road, where Urick Howell, the car's owner, was connected to an open murder/manslaughter warrant. Deputies from Constable Mark Herman's office were the first to respond.
The official Facebook page for Precinct 4 detailed the operation carried out by the Special Operations and Canine Unit, which included the safe capture of Howell without incident, the deputies located the vehicle and upon a swift identification process, it became evident the man indeed had a dark cloud hanging overhead, an outstanding warrant bidding his freedoms goodbye. Precinct 4's Facebook post on July 12 stated, “Urick Howell was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for his Murder/Manslaughter Warrant. His court and bond information are not available at this time.”
