
A juvenile was reportedly shot in the neck and chest at Frontier Park in Simi Valley, during the early hours of Monday morning. According to KTLA, the shooting was reported just before 2:30 a.m. at the park located at 2165 Elizondo St. Simi Valley Police Department arrived to find the male minor suffering from wounds, with one gunshot impacting his trachea and another in his chest.
Immediately after the incident, the injured youth was transported to a local trauma center, as stated by the Police Department. The attackers, their identity yet unclaimed by the cloaks of the night, remain at large, leaving behind only the visage of several individuals in dark-colored hoodies, seen fleeing the scene. Although the precise age of the victim has not been made clear, the confrontation is believed to have been between two groups, during which the tragic shooting occurred.
The VC Star reported that three male juveniles in dark-colored hoodie sweatshirts were spotted running from the park immediately after the shots rang out. As of Monday evening, no arrests had been made in connection with the shooting, and authorities continue their search for suspects.
The location of the shooting, Frontier Park, is a community space known for its children's playground and access to the Arroyo Simi Bike Path. Adding a layer of cruelty to the incident, it's a site typically alive with the laughter of youngsters, now marred by the specter of violence.
