A Kingman man with an extensive criminal history is facing multiple indictments after reportedly dealing firearms, explosives, and narcotics, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Arizona announced Tuesday. Matthew Edward Dach, 46, was charged last week with an eight-count indictment that includes possessing and distributing illegal substances and weaponry, according to a press release from the prosecutor's office.

The indictment alleges that between May and June 2024, Dach exchanged a suite of illicit items with an undercover Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agent. The items are said to include a rifle, ammunition, homemade explosives, and methamphetamine. Further, he is accused of selling two homemade destructive devices, which he created at his residence in Kingman, to the agent. The agent purportedly informed Dach that one device was to be used against a witness in a federal trial, which, resulted in an additional charge.

Dach's criminal history includes felony convictions for offenses involving drugs, burglary, vehicle theft, and weapons charges. Should he be found guilty of the current charges, the penalties would be severe. Distribution of Explosive Materials by a Non-Licensee and Possession of an Unregistered Firearm alone could result in a maximum punishment of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The most significant charge, carrying and using a firearm in relation to drug trafficking, could lead to a life sentence.

The investigation was a collaborative effort led by the ATF, with assistance from local and state agencies including the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, and the HIDTA's Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team. The U.S. Attorney’s Office remarked that an indictment is simply a method by which a person is charged with criminal activity and, raises no inference of guilt. Until evidence is presented that establishes guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, any accused individual, including Dach, is presumed innocent.

Prosecution for this case is being handled in Phoenix by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Arizona. For more information on this case, the public can refer to case number CR-24-08073-PHX-MTL and release number 2024-100_Dach.
