The Los Angeles Police Department is calling for potential victims of a recent spat of vandalism across Downtown LA to come forward. The LAPD's Central Burglary Detectives have been on the hunt for suspects following a significant number of graffiti markings that have cropped up in the area.
According to an official statement by the LAPD, an investigation kicked off when patrol officers were called to a property on South Spring Street on May 28. Officers discovered that the interior of the building had been heavily vandalized, with distinct spray-painted imagery left by the perpetrators.
The investigation led detectives to Julian-Guy Vladimir Alfa, a 30-year-old suspect whose home was searched on July 29 following a warrant approved by a Los Angeles County Judge. As a result of the search, Alfa, located at his residence on the 700 block of Towne Avenue in Los Angeles, was taken into custody. He is now facing charges for Penal Code 594(B)(1) – Felony Vandalism, coupled with an existing misdemeanor warrant for Penal Code 594(A) – Misdemeanor Vandalism.
Following his arrest, Alfa was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center under Booking No. 6855442. The LAPD has urged anyone with additional information related to the vandalism to contact Central Burglary Detective O’Brien at (213) 996-9864. In a statement obtained by the LAPD, tips can also be delivered anonymously through multiple channels, including the LA Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477), or online through their website and the “P3 Tips” mobile application.
