
In a routine intervention, Long Beach Police Department officers removed a firearm from the streets during a traffic stop late Wednesday night.
The stop, initiated near the 1000 block of Almond Court, occurred at about 11:14 p.m. on July 24, with officers conducting what resulted in the arrest of a suspect and the recovery of a gun, as reported by the LBPD. Details on the events leading up to the traffic stop and investigation were not immediately disclosed.
The LBPD shared the sequence of events in a public blotter post, noting the successful apprehension. "Great work officers! Yesterday officers safely took a gun off the streets," the department announced.
The suspect's identity, as well as the specifics of the charges, have not been released as the investigation remains active.
