Angelenos might want to savor the morning fog while it lasts, as temperatures are set to climb throughout the city by the afternoon. According to the National Weather Service, today’s weather in Los Angeles will see patchy fog clearing up by 11 a.m., before yielding to sunnier skies and a high near 84 degrees. The light breeze, taking a turn from variable to a more westerly southwest direction at 5 to 10 mph, should offer some mild respite from the warmth.
Tonight, the city is expected to experience partly cloudy conditions, providing a gentle cool down with lows around 67 degrees. A constant presence, the west-southwest wind at 5 to 10 mph is slated to become south-southeast after the stroke of midnight. Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday forecasts indicate a sunny disposition with the mercury climbing to near 91 degrees. Breezes will remain light but shift from southeast to southwest in the afternoons.
The pattern continues into the start of next week, with each day mirroring the last—mornings draped in patchy fog before conceding to mostly sunny skies. Sunday and Monday alike are poised to deliver highs lingering around 90 degrees, with light winds due in from the southwest.
Come nightfall, residents of The City of Angels should expect the fog to roll back in, as it becomes a familiar visitor each evening after 11 p.m. This nightly dance between the fog and clouds sets a recurring scene that blankets our city with temperatures resting comfortably in the upper 60s. As midweek approaches, daytime temperatures are projected to dip ever so slightly, with Tuesday and Wednesday boasting highs in the upper 80s, and nature’s air conditioning—the coastal fog—persisting in its rhythm.
