
A 28-year-old man from Wyoming was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries following a rollover crash in Spring Lake Township, Ottawa County, on Sunday. The incident occurred near the intersection of 144th Avenue and Leonard Road at approximately 3:25 p.m., according to authorities, MLive reported.
Reports initially indicated that the vehicle was on fire with the driver trapped inside; however, it was later confirmed that the car had not caught fire. As WZZM 13 detailed, first responders rushed to the scene and successfully extracted the driver from his vehicle that through a ditch went, over Leonard Road, and landed in a ditch on the other side where it rolled over.
The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office told WOODTV that the investigation so far has revealed the man was travelling south on 144th Avenue when his vehicle left the roadway just before reaching Leonard Road. Following the crash, Sheriff's deputies and Spring Lake Township firefighters worked together to remove the driver from the overturned car.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. The man who suffered injuries in the rollover was taken to a local hospital responding with emergency crews swiftly to the accident site. Further details about the man's condition have not been released as the authorities continue their inquiry into the precise events that led up to the accident.
