
An ongoing investigation is taking place after a man was shot and injured by Huntington Beach police during an overnight incident. The confrontation occurred near the intersection of Goldenwest Street and Heil Avenue, around 11 p.m. Tuesday, as reported by KTLA. According to the police department, officers had been responding to a call for service before the shooting took place.
The condition of the man who was shot is currently unknown he was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, ABC7 provides additional insight, noting that while no other injuries were sustained during the incident, the reasons leading up to the officer opening fire have not been disclosed ABC7. The area was heavily scrutinized by investigators post-event, particularly around the ARCO gas station's parking lot situated at the intersection.
The Huntington Beach Police Department has offered minimal details on the events that precipitated the shooting or on whether the man was armed.
