Residents and commuters in Maple Grove, brace yourselves for some travel disruption to kick off the work week. According to a post from the City of Maple Grove's official Facebook page, Hennepin County crews are set to carry out resurfacing work on Hemlock Lane/Zachary Lane, from Arbor Lakes Parkway to 85th Avenue/Weaver Lake Road. The roads will be closed to through traffic from Monday, July 22, through Tuesday, July 23, though local residents and businesses will still have access.
This necessary inconvenience is bound to inevitably affect morning and evening commutes, so it's recommended to allow extra time and stay alert for crews on site. Although roads may be off-limits to the public, the crews are tasked to improve conditions which will eventually benefit everyone's daily drive. The work is set to commence early Monday and should, weather permitting, wrap up by the end of Tuesday.
For those living or working in the affected areas, the closure might mean a bit more planning to navigate around the worksite. However, the impact is temporary and is meant to ensure better quality roads in the long term. The city has indicated that they are making efforts to minimize the disruption and have advised drivers to be on the lookout for detour signs and to follow instructions from road crews.
It’s important to remember to remain patient and exercise caution around the work zones for everyone's safety. These roadworks are often essential to maintain infrastructure and although they might temporarily slow things down, the results are meant to provide smoother transit in the future. Updates on the progress of the resurfacing, as well as any changes to the traffic restrictions, will be provided by the City of Maple Grove as the work progresses.
