A Maynard resident has been slapped with serious charges in connection with a house fire that occurred last month, leaving one firefighter injured. Annabelle Dentino, 26, faces arson and related charges following the blaze at her 1 Little Rd. home, according to statements from Maynard Police Chief Michael A. Noble, Fire Chief Angela Lawless, and State Fire Marshal Jon M. Davine.
The fire in question broke out during the evening of June 5 and continued to rage into the early morning hours of June 6. Dentino was arrested last night as part of the advancing investigation. Efforts to squelch the fire resulted in one firefighter being hurt, although fortunately, the injuries were stated to not be life-threatening. As the investigation by local and state officials progressed, they determined the fire to have been intentionally set, as was reported by mass.gov.
Dentino's case is currently in the hands of the Middlesex County District Attorney's office. She was brought before the Concord District Court today, and it has been decided that she will be held and await a dangerousness hearing set for August 5. This development comes as the various departments continue to collaborate and piece together the details of what transpired on that night in June.
The incident has indeed sparked conversation and concern among the Maynard community, as fire-related crimes and their subsequent consequences often resonate deeply within small towns. Meanwhile, the broader implications of this investigation are yet to unfold. More information will undoubtedly come to light as the the date for Dentino's August hearing approaches.
