
In a recent update from the Metropolitan Police Department, an arrest has been made in connection to a burglary that occurred in Southeast. The announcement made comes in the wake of a break-in that took place early on Sunday morning, July 28.
According to official reports, a suspect managed to quietly enter a residence through an open door located on the 500 block of 14th Street, Southeast, at approximately 4:10 a.m. Inside, he confronted a woman and demanded she to hand over property. The homeowner complied, and the suspect subsequently made his escape from the scene.
The suspect, identified as 55-year-old Antoine Jamal Gibson of Northwest, DC, did not manage to evade the law for long. Two days after the reported burglary yesterday, Gibson was apprehended and charged with Burglary One.
"On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, 55-year-old Antoine Jamal Gibson, of Northwest, DC, was arrested and charged with Burglary One," states the press release from the Metropolitan Police Department. This recent arrest illustrates the continued efforts by the MPD to quickly respond to and resolve criminal activity in the community.
