In a heartening display of community support, Major League Baseball and the Texas Rangers recently commemorated the additions to Mission Arlington Mission Metroplex's medical facility, a clinic that crucially aids the Arlington community. An announcement highlighted the unveiling of the 2023 World Series Legacy project, a key element of the MLB Together platform, which saw the expansion of the clinic to include seven new patient rooms and a dedicated triage area, according to the City of Arlington, Texas.

The Texas Rangers Foundation has been an integral partner of Mission Arlington, contributing to its operations, which serve approximately 2,000 individuals daily with necessities ranging from emergency funds to food, medical, and dental services, as well as clothing and counseling. The newly built pediatric rooms were a focus for the World Series Legacy funds, enhancing the clinic that sees up to 15,000 patients yearly and delivers over $5 million in free medical care.

"It's going to be a really unique opportunity to change the way we are doing things," Andrea Wilson, the clinic's director, said in a statement. According to Wilson, the expansion will not only provide more space but will also allow for the inclusion of additional support roles that will elevate patient care to new heights.

The project's inauguration, held on Thursday, was attended by MLB representatives, the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation, and famed former players Dave Valle and Steve Buechele, who came to celebrate the fruition of the World Series Legacy Project. Mission Arlington was established by Tillie Burgin, who continues to lead the organization at 86 years old. "It's a feeling of emotions, it's deep in love that only God can give. I just am thankful," Burgin expressed during the ceremony, as per the City of Arlington, Texas.
