Metropolitan Police Department officer's arrests have been made in the recent series of thefts targeting Lululemon stores in the city, a spree with store managers and shoppers on heightened alert. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, it was the Third District officers on routine patrol early this morning that led to the apprehension of the alleged thief, whose vehicle bore a striking resemblance to one connected with multiple retail theft cases.
During what began as a customary traffic stop, the officers noted the individual behind the wheel was a mirror image of a suspect whose facsimile had been tied to the thefts; this discovery prompt and decisive unfolded as Avante Demarco Greene, a 23-year-old Northwest resident, was identified and subsequently arrested. He now faces a slew of charges, including three counts of Theft One for incidents that spanned a week, beginning on July 10 and culminating in his July 16 spree, crimes notable for both their frequency and their brazen nature, all centered around high-end athletic wear.
Specifically outlined in the arrest, Greene is confronted with charges about thefts that occurred on the 1000 block of F Street, Northwest, on July 10 (CCN: 24105644), another on the 3200 block of M Street, Northwest, on July 12 (CCN: 24106803), and a final documented act again on the 1000 block of F Street, Northwest, on July 16 (CCN: 24109080).
