A fatal shooting in Northeast is currently under investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department, following an incident that left a 45-year-old man deceased inside a residence last Saturday.
Police officers were called to the 1800 block of Providence Street, Northeast, around 1:30 p.m. on June 29 after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Michael Sturgent Morris, the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to an MPD press release.
The Metropolitan Police has appealed to the public for assistance regarding the incident, urging anyone with information to come forward. In an effort to encourage tips, the department has mentioned that there is a reward of up to $25,000 available for details that could lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the violent crime.
