The Metropolitan Police Department is currently seeking assistance from the public in apprehending a suspect linked to a recent shooting and armed robbery incident. The crime, which unfolded in the early morning hours inside a residential building, has since left one person hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the official report released by Metropolitan Police Department, the event occurred on Monday, at approximately 1:05 a.m., when, the armed suspect engaged the victim on the 4000 block of Minnesota Avenue in Northeast. Upon brandishing a handgun, the perpetrator demanded the victim's belongings, which the victim surrendered. After receiving the victim's property, the individual proceeded to shoot the victim before fleeing the premises.
Witnesses who may have been in the vicinity at the time of the robbery and subsequent shooting are encouraged to come forward with any information they might have. Metropolitan Police Department emphasizes the importance of community collaboration in efforts to track down the person responsible for this violence. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.
