A quiet afternoon in Pittsburgh's Station Square was disrupted when a gunshot was heard at a local business. According to the City of Pittsburgh public safety report, at around 2:30 p.m. yesterday, police were called to Joe's Crab Shack at 226 W. Station Square Drive after employees heard what they described as a popping sound.
Upon arrival, police officers discovered that a window at the back of the restaurant had been damaged, but only the first page of the double-pane window was affected. It is believed that a bullet may have struck a metal object before coming to ricochet and subsequently hit the window. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in the incident as the police are trying to thoroughly investigate the situation and locate where the shot originated from.
Officers located damage to one of the back windows of the restaurant and a bullet fragment on the ground, no suspects have been identified at this time, and the Pittsburgh Police's search for the source of the shot is ongoing.
For now, the employees and guests of Joe's Crab Shack can only be relieved to know that the event did not escalate into a tragedy.
